RENAMING

Raffles Beijing Hotel was renamed Beijing Hotel NUO on Dec 1 and joined the portfolio of luxuryhospitality brand NUO. The landmark property, which was opened in 1917, is one of the oldestluxury hotels in China and has witnessed many historic events over the last century.

AWARDS

Frankson Lee, general manager of InterContinental Hangzhou, has been presented the WestLake Friendship Award by the Zhejiang government for his outstanding contribution to theprovince.

Hyatt Regency Qingdao won the honor of the Best Business Hotel in Qingdao in November. Theaward was granted by Business Traveller China magazine according to its readers' votes.

PARTNERSHIP

Minyoun Hospitality signed a franchise agreement with Ammata Lanta Resort Suvarnabhumi inBangkok on Nov 3, marking its entry into the Thailand market.

CELEBRATIONS

The Regent Beijing held a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Nov 30 to kick off its festiveholiday activities, which will run through New Year's Day. Traditional Christmas goodies, pastriesand gluhwein were offered as part of the celebration.
